Meanwhile the Mercs keep on pursuing their orders.
A surprise is, that one of them turns out to be Ghost. The leader Vika explains the order to the town people:"Can you please try not to get in the way, Command has ordered this town be set up as a quarantine zone, to try and establish a safe zone for our ground teams working to clear the infestation in the area... " Dixie tells her:"This town doesn't need to be quarantined, you bring in choppers and you loud planes and draw every walker from miles around and 3 towns over we weren't infested until you guys arrived."
Vika pointed to sirens being set up around the outskirts of town. "You seen zodiac does not spread on it's own, so it has a very limited range, if we can get the infected to come to one small area, then we can gas that small area and not risk killing any of you survivors or our own assets on the field...call it a prototype…" Then the town is put under quarantine and the mercs set up barricades: helos flew over head towing massive concrete barriers under them. "Just on time." she muttered. they started to drop the carriers down around the town in various locations to block off ways in and out of the town, leaving only one way in, giving them the advantage over the infected numbers.
Max, one of the Mercs saves Dixie from the others and had becomes a friend to her, given her a radio to communicate. Psy appears on the scene , telling Dixie that Bear is dead. And for some reason Psy and Ghost believe that Dixie is responsible for his death.
At night, Fang returns home to Diexie in their new residence in the town and has bad news:
" I discovered, quite painfully, that I have a boney growth on my arm. I believe my time in the Ukraine is finally coming back to haunt me, in Cancerous forms."
Abe and Hazel come to the town to find food and goods and bump into Dixie. She tells them about the latest stunt from the Mercs and how they intend to take over everything, especially the town and about "Zodiac". They all agree that they must do something against the invaders. They are overheard by Blake who suddenly appears after having listening up in his apartment. Abe wants to kill him but when they realize that Blake, who calls himself "Tom Rakewell" now, seems to have lost his memory, the women persuade Abe to put his personal vendetta against Blake aside for now because they need every single and able man now. Then they discuss a plan against the mercs.
The uptown is completely under Quarantine. The walls on both sides of the high street stand high and close this part of Shiner. When Dixie wakes up the next morning, Fang's side of the bed is empty and she finds a note:
Dixie,
Forced that paramedic to take me to Halletsville in his ambulance. Going to see about getting medicine. Don't trust.

P.S., left my AK for you under the bed. Treat her well, and she'll treat you well.
Dixie feels alone and abandoned, her hands move to her belly. "What am I gonna do?" she asks herself curling back under the covers she cries into her pillow.
Later that day while Blake, Det and two new people, Catheleia and James, are at Dixie's and Fang's house, there they hear this broadcast:
Broadcasts on all CV and SAT com channels.
"Attention survivors living in Shiner, this is CEO Jake Allen of AITC, some of you may be already encountered my company on the ground, or even seen our choppers in the sky, or our mobile base Olympus in the sky, I want to assure you personally, you are in no danger, my company is attempting to eradicate the infection and provide support to whats left of humanity. that being said, they are heavily armed, if you show hostility towards them I have authorized force, I can not afford to lose any more of my company assets. AITC Will be dropping supplies, food,medical, and survival gear. with in shiner, it will be guarded and handed out by my agents on the ground, approach them un armed and they will welcome you with open arms, after a scan to make sure you are not infected. Humanity is not done yet, this is our last stand against the infected, support AITC and you will have your city back again."
They hear the helicopter, storm outside and see it landing again. Agent Vika with two of her soldiers climbs out, a bitter debate between Dixie and Vika starts. The frontiers harden. The survivors feel threatened and oppressed by the mercs and every new encounter only makes the situation worse.
Meanwhile Abe and Hazel break into the sheriff office on the highway and secure food and ammunition.
Town: Gera meets Det who seems to be working for the mercs, but tells her he is not associated with them. In her apartment they find a badly beaten up young woman ( Justine) They tend to her wounds. Gera doesn't know that Det had something to do with her injuries, the girl is a scavenger. Later Gera sees Abe and Hazel. They talk about the plan how to fight off the dictatorship of the mercs and Gera learns that Blake is still alive and in town. Then they see a new survivor who asks for shelter in town. His name is Eli. They tell him about the situation, that the town is in the hand of the mercs but he tells them: "Honestly I'd rather be in here than with the walkers out there...been walking and avoiding them since amarillo".

"The Resistance"
Location: Town, Dixie's Town Hall Bungalow
Blake is waiting for Dixie at her place. He wants to give her a note to pass to the others, about first ideas of the resistance against the mercs. She arrives together with Topaz who is injured (gunshot stomach) Two other survivors enter also. Tom, a young man with his dog and a six year old boy named Jared. Dixie tends to Topaz's injuries while Blake, Tom and Jared talk in the yard. Blake informs them about the current situation in town, how the mercs invaded and that the town people formed a resistance group to fight back. The merc paramedic Schultsky arrives to talk to Dixie and let her know about Fang. He helps Dixie with Topaz. Carmen arrives, she is shaken from what happened to Topaz and Topaz comforts the girl. Suddenly they hear noises and when Carmen tries to find out about, a pack of mutant wolves enters the yard. Another little boy, runs from them (Carl) and they take the boy inside.Then they all shoot everything they've got at the creatures and kill them finally. Dixie examines the cadavers. While Dixie can't say what made the wolves mutate (the virus?) most of the others believe the wolves are lab dogs of the mercs, maybe trained to keep the town people in check.
Topaz, takes care of little Jared, who has taking an instant liking to her, bathing him while the adults go up to the roof terrace. Gera arrives, a little shaken, seeing Blake again and they tell her what happened. Up on the roof terrace they all have something to eat and talk about the the mercs.
Finally Abe and Hazel arrive. They bring a surprise guest. Someone who will join them to fight against the mercs. It turns out that it is Colton! Emotions now run high. Dixie is shocked and devastated that this arch enemy, the man who kidnapped her once and is said to be responsible for Mias death and the war that erupted between Prison people and Abe's group, should now become their ally. But Hazel and Abe argue that this is no different from trusting Blake who is also supposed to be a bad man, many believe that it was him who killed Mia. So if Abe is forced to trust Blake, Dixie must now trust Colton.
They need every man now, as they have one common enemy: The mercs. Colton tries to explain that he only spread rumors, that he made out to be a monster to protect himself: "I knew i couldnt survive alone so becoming someone else and making a fake story that made me a leader would keep me alive longer, when my group split up i had to do something to survive." Blake on the other hand stays calm (because his convenient loss of memories lets him believe he is some guy called Rakewell and this "Blake" is someone he sometimes gets mistaken for.) The situation erupts and Colton leaves and with that, they lose an important strong ally. And then a new broadcast is transmitted:
"Attention good survivors living in shiner, this is Jake Allen, CEO of AITC, some of you may have noticed the walls set up around the town, the towers out in the outskirts, these towers are for your protection and ours as well, project ZODIAC is a heavy deadly chemical weapon to both the living and the infected, I must urge you NOT to try and go near these towers, I repeat do NOT go near these towers. AITC will continue to supply the Zones, how ever this being said you are free to leave, the gates are not to keep you in but to keep the infected out, how ever when you return we must check to see if you are infected, this is to insure the safety of the other survivors.
[14:53] Altier Verwood: "Further more, the towers blasting the loud sounds, these are to draw in the infected on purpose, I repeat this is intentional. the more infected we draw out and kill the less we have to risk our agents in a door to door fight with the infected, I may be CEO of a company but I still care about my agents. Humanities time is not up yet, we will continue to fight against the infected, you have my word as CEO of this company. Jake Allen over and out"
They all run outside and gather at the wall, looking for the chemical towers. The merc's leader Vika pulls up in a humvee, protected by a group of heavily armed PMC's.
"going out for a scavenging run ?" she asks the survivors, as the PMC's look on with cautious glances to one another, M4's ready to shoot if necessary. And the survivors, supressing their fear, frustration and anger, back away and go to their homes...The Merc's Pull Out

Attention people of shiner, this is Jake Allen CEO of AITC, due to disturbing reports I have received of armed hostility towards my agents on the ground level, I can no longer ensure their safety, rather than order them to tighten the hold on the town I will be removing my agents from shiner, to prevent a pointless and inevitable shoot out between my agents and the survivors, i will be removing them and deploying them else where, there is no use in having my agents die in a fight against survivors when we should be putting our efforts towards fighting the infected. though we will be leaving, AITC will not halt it's fight against the infected, we will continue our work against the infected and freeing this world one city at a time. if their are no further hostilities towards my agents on the ground I will not have to order further action to be taken. IF there is further hostilities I will be
forced to take further action in defending my agents. Humanities fight is not yet over, there is a saying, the night is darkest before the dawn, no matter how corny this line is, it is true, both scientifically and metaphorically, we will keep fighting, you have my word... Dixie and Vika in "The Merc's goodbye"
Dixie has one last talk with Vika. She shows her the mutant wolves, they discuss the possibility of the virus changing, becoming airborne and hence infect animals too now.The women are civil to each other. In the end Vika even leaves weapons for them and they depart wishing each other good luck.
Dixie, Jared, Tom and Topaz in " Maybe home"
Topaz cooks for the "boys" Jared and Tom, Topaz might become Jareds new "Mom", they pick apartments for new homes.
Dixie, Jared, Loki, Justine, Schultsky
Ex-Merc Paramedic Schultsky has stayed with the town people and set up a makeshift clinic in an empty store. He is examining the injured Justine who was taken in by Gera. Schultsky tells Justine: Okay, your larynx sustained a lot of trauma,to fully fix it we'd need surgery performed on it...but I'm not a surgeon. His revelation brings tears to the girl's eyes and she mouthes the words 'no' repeatedly. Dixie , her pet wolf Loki and Jared arrive. Schultsky asks Dixie to leave her gun outside, he extra put up a bin there, to leave weapons. Dixie refuses to comply, and they have a heated discussion. Dixie states she means no harm and is in fact a doctor herself and that she merely wanted to inquire about Justine's state. They are interruted by Lokis barking, Jared had strayed outside and attracted the attention of the walkers from the mall. After putting them down Dixie tells Jared off.The boy had meant well, wanted to get supplies and is devastated about his mishap. They go back inside the clinic, this time Diexie stashes her gun outside. While little Jared is sobbing quietly, feeling useless (like his father had always told him) hugging the wolf, Dixie asks Schultsky if he has any information about her husband Fang. Jared sniffles a bit and wiped his runny nose after a good cry, crinkling softly as he shifted and curled up onto the floor in a pile, resting his head on the wolfs side. Schultsky cleares his throat a little, "Your husband has Stage 2B Boner Cancer," he startes as he looks down to the floor, wanting to avoid eye contact with her. "I am not sure, but it may even by Stage 3, as the cancerous growth on his arm is quite old, never found. He is currently in Hallettsville General with some of the surviving staff. There's not...guarantee he will overcome it. Medical science is just...so powerful, and without power and chemotherapy. The Paramatic tries to comfort Dixie, who is now 2 months pregnant that Fang might still live long enough to his his child being born. Justine has gone out to "shop" and come back now. Dixie, distressed about the news about Fang, takes Jared and Loki and walks back to her place.
Abe, Eli, Dixie, Holly, Hazel, Colton, Ellie
Dixie pays a vist to Abe and his people in Downtown at the motel where they live. Dixie is not impressed to see that Colton is an established member with the Donwtown people now.
Dixie tells them that the town group have gained a lot of new residents, all children. Elllie comes back from one her meetings with Joel (NPC) and tells them they saw mutated wolves, just like the ones that had entered Dixies yard the other day. Dixie and Colton repeatedly clash, she can not cope with the fact that he is one of them now. Abe muses that the mutant animals might be a result of the gas from the mercs: "bottom line... we need to search at town for some left over containers of that gas thing the jar head used"... mods slowly as he rubs his hands on his flannel shirt... "and to doing that we might need gas masks or some rags tied up across out mouths and noses" They also want to examine the mutants and Colton offers, they could do that at his old camp. Dixie huffs."Do you have a chemical testing lab next to where cut up your 'dinner'?" Referring to the rumors that he had been a canibal.
Colton looks at Dixie with a look of disgust, if looks could kill she would be dead "No, no i dont, but its the only building i know is secure enough for you to store things and try and test things out, excuse me for saying anything Queen Dixie." Abe has to put his foot down to stop they quarrel. They decide to look for suitable hospitals and also places to get gas masks from. Meanwhile Eli has arrived and shortly after that two new survivors enter the motel. Max Krieger and Ambreh. This causes more tension as they barge in while Colton and Dixie have words again.
Max points his finger at Colton. "Hey, friend I don't want trouble but don't touch her, you understand me? I wanna like ya but if you're gonna get physical do something constructive with it. Plenty of walkers to kill out there."
Dixie: "Trust me folks this man is no one you want in you confidence. My place is safe despite what he says mostly because he is not in it."
Colton: "I purposely let you live too, I wish i hadnt, I told you none of that was true, i done things i regret but i never ate a human being, You can dwell on that to get everyone to leave this camp all you want, but just know you have to protect these people, and i know you cant when your numbers in your group are nothing but children. Go home Dixie...... Just go home. You have Blake for god sakes who doesnt remeber all the shit he done, once he starts remembering he will kill your people off just like at the prison."
Dixie: "I can and so can my people never said we didn't have the means for protection I have very strong members." shakes her head."I don't have Blake he lives else where in town.
Colton: "He is still there, and you know as soon as he rembers he is blake, and not this rakeford guy or whatever in the hell name he thinks he is he will take your place over, and i hope he makes you suffer...…"
Dixie has enough and leaves, followed by Max and Ambreh. Their way back is cut off by a group of walkers but together they can destroy them. Dixie takes the new people back to her place in Town. She feed them, they learn she is pregnant. She offers then to stay at least for the night and they do.

An almost cozy evening at home. Topaz prepares Jared for bed while Tom and Gera talk about the events of the day (including the encounter with a scientist called Lana) and about plans of making the town more secure.
Dixie and Lex in "The return of the sheriff"
[18:44] Alex Gellantara was on his way back through town... Lex walked a lot heavier now, like the weight on his shoulders was bringing his entire frame down. Aged more so, in just such a short time... Lex. Was. Pissed. Last he had been through here, it was quiet, and the people were taking shots at cops...now? He heard shit about Mercs, and fencing in civvies. Fuck things changed when you were busy!
[18:53] Jourdi (jourdain.oleander) Dixie walked down the street things were somewhat quiet on the street now, those from the Merc's and there choppers and sirens blasting walker number had increased dramatically in town so they were still working on clearing them off . She herself no matter how much sleep she got was always tired just one of the joys of being a human oven. She strolled along rubbing her neck slightly as it was a little stiff. She held the AK in her arms seeing the movement out of the corner of her eye she turned and aimed expecting to see yet another walker but was relieved when it was just another person." Hey, you alright?" she asked not really seeing his face clearly from where she was she didn't recognize him.
[18:55] Alex Gellantara slowly turned to Dixie, yeah...he had aged a lot more in a few weeks, a beard started, and his creased age lines just got deeper. Slowly he raised his pistol as he stared at Dixie...he could gun her down right there...and he thought about it. Slowly bringing his gun up. His eyes slowly blinked, but soon his arm gave way. "Yer not worth the lead," he muttered quietly.
[19:01] Jourdi (jourdain.oleander) that voice it was familiar slowly she moved closer slipping the AK back on her shoulder. "Oh my god, Lex?" she gasped and held back the erge to cry and run up and hug him as his statement still clearly showed he still held ill will toward her. "Your alive, I've been so worried about you. Fang found your gun belt in the swamp and I thought you were dead."
[19:03] Alex Gellantara didn't react when she ran over to him and made contact with him. She'd noticed he smelled like walkers, and bo. Seemed like he had been travelling a lot lately. "Can't kill what's already dead," he muttered, and then reached up to hold onto her shoulder with his main hand, then slowly push her back. "Don't think...I've forgotten a damn thing."
[19:07] Jourdi (jourdain.oleander): "Jesus, what the hell why do you hate me so much I didn't do a damn thing? We had mended thing and next thing I now your flipping out on me? By the way I had every intension of bringing them to you but your were gone and so were they you both disappeared with out a trace."
[19:08] Alex Gellantara slowly shrugged, looking down to the arm. It hadn't worked since then, so...it was best for it to be gone. "Yeah..." he muttered, and then slowly tilted his head up to the sky. He needed to keep moving, so his boots slowly picked up off the asphalt as he started off again. "Gotta...go...work to be done."
[19:13] Jourdi (jourdain.oleander): "Lex..." she sighed."I don't want to leave things bad with you your important to me damnit and maybe you don't give a rats ass or care a lick but I need you now more then ever." she didn't say why not right now. "Would you at least come back to the house rest and get some food in ya and we could talk later after your rested?"
[19:14] Alex Gellantara didn't seem to hear much of what she said. All he really knew was that he needed to do something...it was like a basic instinct was guiding him back home. His boots dragged off suddenly to the east, just pushing through storefronts to head that way. Odd man.
Dixie, Holly, Jared, Tom, Topaz in "Topaz's Sacrifice"
When Topaz saves Jared from a group of zombies in town, she is being scratched. Topaz seems calm but expects the worse. While Dixie tends to her wound, she begs Tom to look after the kids Jared and Carmen id she would not make it. Tom, traumatized as so many form previous events in his life after the apocalypse, breaks down. He refuses to believe that Topaz could die and tells them he can not promise to look after the kids. Later he has to go over to the other apartment, where Jared is and tries to comfort him.
Holly, Jared, Loki, Tom
Tom needs to go and be alone to kill his demons, as he says. He asks Holly to look after Jared for him while he is gone.
Dixie, Ellie, Lex
Lex visits Dixie in her town hall house. He meets Ellie. Dixie and Lex finally talk about everything that has happened after he went missing. She tells them about how the russians left, and about Fang's illness. Lex muses that Dixie would probably want him to stay in town and help the survivors. Dixie says she would love that but she does not expect this of him. Alex Gellantara had to think on that one...was it worth it to him to stay there? He didn't know any of these people anymore, and chances were none of them would remember him. So he just shrugged slowly, and stood up from the table, pushing his chair back in quite skillfully with just one arm. "Nah," he said fairly basically, and then moved to tip his hat to her. "Gonna go...find somewhere..." he muttered, mostly to himself, and soon carried himself out of the house.
Dixie, Tom, Carmen and Ellie
On her way to bring supplies for Topaz who is hiding and staying at at a secret location , her own wish and for the safety of the town group, Dixie finds Tom who has left without a word after Topaz was scratched by a walker. He tells her he had to be alone, that he could not cope. Dixie and him talk and in the end he decides not to forsake the group and come back to them. They go the prison and Dixie thells him that this had been their home before the mercs came. She shows the the graves of the people they had lost. Later back in town, Carmen asks where Topaz is. The adults have decided not to tell the kids where Topaz is, to spare them heartbreak, if it should come to the worst. Carmen runs out of the room crying.
The Rain
The rain came as much as it used to only these days it had more to wash away than before.
The dead owned the world now and the rain didn’t bother them much.
The ones walking around anyway.
In the prison yard amongst the graves of those who fell the rain made small splashes in the hardened soil of Mia’s grave.
She never liked when it rained. It made everything feel sad she felt. In the days leading to her death she found herself alone in the rain and for the first time in a very long time she felt happy.
The rain splashing on her coat made her realise that no matter what may happen, no matter who she lost, no matter how bad things may feel. The rain was always going to be there.
Just like the sun. Just like the clouds. Just like the nights and days.
So as the rain now falls upon the graves of Mia and those around her who had been lost to the dead let’s take a moment to remember the things that will always be there.

Dixie meets Psy and Blake out on the high street. Psy is talking crazy as usual, petting a rat he found, Blake seems absentminded.

The first sign were the mutant wolves. And while everybody mused if it was the toxic gas of the mercs or any other twisted military project that caused these mutations, they were not thinking much further. They had so many other things on their minds: Building walls to secure the town, cleaning up the increasing numbers of walkers, waiting for cancer ridden husbands to come home, praying for infected friends who sacrificed their life for a child, getting enough nourishment for the pregnant, the children, the injured…
One of the new survivors is captured by a cloaked creature, smelling more of decay and dead then the dead themselves, Abe blasts his shotgun into a Zombie who is much faster than any other he'd seen before, who can jump and climb. Mutations of mutations.
Dixie, Blake and Tom observe a female zombie walking one of the mutated wolves like a dog. They shoot them, a cloaked creature appears, with a smell far worse than the walkers, walking to the apartments where the children sleep. WHen they shoot at the creature, their bullets jump of it like fleas, the clanking sound tells them, the creature is in armor under the cloak. Before IT leaves, IT turns around and speaks:" I want your blood!"
Dixie faints, the men bring her to her house. When she comes to, they intend to follow the trail of the creature but Hazel and Holly arrive and warn them. Lock your doors and windows, don't go out on the roof, there is a new zombie. One that climbs and jumps.
Hazel and Holly run out again to shoot it, Dixies pet wolf Loki follows them. The zombie attacks Loki and escapes. The girls bring the injured animal back to Dixie and she has to put the poor creature, the loyal friend, out of his misery. Loki dies with his eyes fixed on Dixie.
They thought what could there be worse than the dead rising: The dead and maybe the living too, mutating into new perverse creations of a cruel mother beast called nature.
Det and Dixie
Det finds Dixie in her yard, still kneeling by the dead Loki. He is unnecessary harsh, tells her he is leaving for New York to find his brother, that he thinks Dixies friends here would try to get at him anyway, as he was working with the mercs.
"I wanna give you my two cents, before you find yourself so overwhelmed by shit that you can't survive: Leave the city. This shithole...your only hope is to grow crops, and that ain't gonna work out without a reliable water supply. Once I hit Arkansas, I won't get any transmissions from this area, so within a day or two, you get overwhelmed, I won't be helpin. You got enough guns to keep your duckies in line?"
Jourdi : "Friends...." she looked down at Loki. "You don't really have much to worry about from my people anymore if you want to stay. With Topaz now gone the only real capable people we have left are myself, Tom and Rakewell and Gera but she mostly takes care of the kids. Abe and his group live downtown they don't come up here much. I'm rambling, I'm sorry I'm tired and I haven't eaten since breakfast." she rubbed her head. "I'm sure you don't really care about any of that. We have ammo and guns that the Merc's left for us when is runs out we'll just have to find more such is life."
Alliance
Blake "Rakewell goes downtown and talks to Abe and his people about creating an alliance between Uptown and Downtown. Due to the latest events (Mutants, Cloaked Creature)he wants them to build a strong unit against the odds.
Abraham Lynch focus on Blake's answer as he drops himself heavily over a wooden box, nods in agreement a few times before he replies... "yeah, but what bout' the kindergarden you have there?? honestly, I have no nerves to babysit no lil' bugger anymore"...
Blake raises his hands"No no, I am not saying we have to move in together, you people stay here, we stay at our end. But this is one town and we got both ends covered. Of course we look after our kids, but we need to work together on defending the whole town, making our buildings more secure. Building up walls, having guards on patrol.
The two depart with a firm handshake.
Dixie and Dean
While out hunting for a deer at the plaines, Dixie meets a man called Dean Vurne. They decide to share the deer and Dixie invites him home. He is looking for his family. She tells him he will always be welcome if he needs a place to rest.
Topaz and Dixie
After Loki's tragic death, Dixie had almost forgotten to visit Topaz, who is hiding at the Prison, so she won't be a danger to them all. Topaz is in a bad state,constantly battling death and the evil forces that try to take over her body. She speaks of her regrets, that she must win the battle, that she must do it for little Jared, for all of them. Before Dixies eyes, Topaz has another compulsion, another battle which deforms her body and mind.
Jourdi backed a few more steps away seeing the fight between living and the walking undead play out before her eyes. Her eyes fill with tears a hand coming up to cover her mouth to hide the gasp beneath it the other moving to cover her her belly. "I never would have guessed that would be a side effect." she watched her more and slowly backed away. "You battle a war with in yourself I do hope you win. I wont kill you now but i will if you turn fully or try to hurt anyone."
Topaz nods weakly at the last words, then cramps suddenly. Two loops of the fence break under her fingers. "Do so... yes..." she can only produce, "I must... win... f... poor.... poor Jared..." She misses the boy, so ever dearly, the little one that had produced unknown maternal feelings in her. Then though she shakes her head. "It is... coming... go... go!" she croaks distressed, "hours... blackout.... I never know.. no.... where I wake..."
Jourdi backing away further her eyes never leaving Topaz as she watched the battle never turning until she reached the next gate backing through it closing it behind her she turned dashed out the next gate and took off back to town.
Topaz stumbles, as much as she can back to the sidehouse of the prison..... where "IT" breaks forth.......... and "IT" is hunting.... "IT" has a plan... and "IT" knows that prey is close....
Jourdi all the whiling thinking was Topaz the IT, the new creature that stalked the town it had to be she couldn't of anything else that it could be and cured aloud knowing that when Topaz laid in that clinic bed she never should have listen and let them talk her out of it she should have peacefully taken her then and this would not have occurred.
Dixie and Gera
Dixie and Gera have a long talk about the current state of affairs, about their feelings about everything that happened. About the new alliance. Colton being part of the community, Blake's memory loss, Dixies pregnancy and Fang's cancer.
Dixie, Jared, IT, Topaz
Little Jared awakes from his shock induced coma. But IT kidnaps him from his bed at the clinic, taking medicines also. Dixie surprises IT and IT rams a needle into Dixie's stomach. IT knocks Jared out and takes him to the Prison. When Jared awakes in a dark room he sees Topaz naked in a tank full of water and blood. Jared hides but when he realizes it is Topaz she takes him back to the town. Dixie is there, takes Jared of her and calls Topaz a monster. But she allows Topaz to stay at the end apartment.
Dixie and Schultsky
Schultsky arrives back in the clinic at town, seeing that the door is broken (IT broke it to enter when kidnapping Jared) Dixie sees him and begs him to help her, tells him that a needle was pushed into her stomach, (to steel amniotic fluid from her?) The paramedic tells her he has the equipment but needs a car battery for it to work. He walks to the gate at the end,apparently to get one from a car outside town. Dixie tries to stop him but too late, he is surrounded by zombies:
Jourdi watched horrified as he pushed his way and into the pack that littered the gate."Gaea....get back in here...." she pulled the pistol from her leg holster standing with the gate open she fired killing a few but there were many she had know choice but to close the gate she swung it closed and moved to the side where she could still see him and shoot as many off him as possible she could do little much more then that.
Gaea Schultsky jerked suddenly, right at the end of the group, nearly home free, he felt a burning pain in the side of his head. One of Dixie's rounds that was meant for a zombie's skull was carried a little too far. His frame visibly shivered, a sudden convulsion as his body lost all control and dropped. Nearly instantly, the group around him was suddenly ontop, tearing at the cloth and skin, ripping meat from bone.
Jourdi as he jerked she knew in an instant a bullet had struck him it all happened so fast the breeze picked up the walker just narrowly missed as the breeze carried it into the unexpected target of Gaea. Her hands dropped to her side another defeat in this world another demon to bury, more guilt to heft and add to her already trouble mind, she turned from the scene stiff and ragged with emotion she slowly staggered away from the gate her only comfort that he felt nothing as the walkers tore him apart.

Blake, Abe, Eli, Holly, Hazel
Blake aka Rakewell visits Downtown to confirm the alliance and to suggest some trading. He needs vehicles and offers Abe's group medical supply in return. The Downtown group agrees to the deal. Hazel mentions Colton has beeb attacked by a group of hooded scavengers and has locked himself in his room at the motel. Eli clarifies that the vehicles are not ready to trade yet. They are still at the highway and they need to form a group to go about the task. Blake holds back on his part of the deal until the goods can be delivered but he agrees to help securing the vehicles from the highway.
Abe, Topaz, Eli, Blake, Hazel
Abe and Eli come to the town. They see Topaz who has recovered from her illness. Topaz tells the men about her idea to secure the town. Building trenches. Blake joins them. They continue their talk from the other day about getting vehicles from the highway and making them function again. Eli is called away. They all talk about what other alternatives for securing their town they have. Hazel suggests noise makers (the idea was introduced by the mercs) to draw the walkers away from them. Topaz leaves. Blake, Abe and Hazel decide to go on a scout run to the highway to check the situation there. Once there they see that the amount of walking corpses is higher them they had thought. They observe them, hiding behind stranded vehicles and manifest their plan about the repair and collection of the cars.
There is a good reason why Blake aka Rakewell needs vehicles for transport. His new business idea. "Rakewell's Zombie Extravaganza". "Winner takes all but remember: If you can't beat them - Join them"
Entertainment for the people. A chance to get food, medication and shelter if you are willing to risk your neck. For some it might even be a thrill or a chance to give way to the madness.

The summer rains have started, the days are humid, damp and it keeps raining and raining. The sound of distant thunderstorms and lightening everywhere you go…
Dixie, James, a new town resident, Jen and Rakewell explore the old abandoned farm on the plains.
Topaz, her friend and Dixie plan to grow veggies and fruit in their gardens in town and prepare for this task, collecting plants and seeds from the plains and setting up barrels to collect and store rainwater.
Abe finds Carlotta in Downdown, the woman who had been saved by sheriff Lex once. She had drifted around the area ever since, after Lex had laid fire to the apartment. Now she asks Abe for help and after some reluctance he agrees to give her shelter.
Blake tries to talk James into getting involved with his business.
Fang who is recovering, though still weak from the chemo helps Blake to secure a truck from the highway.

As from the month July, this blog will not contain the summary of the current story lines anymore. As always, you may read up on them in world in our library. It has become too large a task to keep up with and summarize all the different stories and characters. But you will still find IC announcements, individual monologs and letters from the characters here. Also the photo documentation will remain.
